El miércoles pasado fui al concierto de Metronomy en el O2 Academy en Cowley Road, la zona de Oxford en donde están las buenas tiendas de ropa, discos, bares y restaurantes. El venue es chiquito, con un escenario sencillo y bastante buen sonido. Los boletos estaban baratísimos y se notaba que la gente que fue al concierto realmente era fanática del grupo. Su tercer y más reciente disco (The English Riviera) es uno de mis favoritos del momento. En una hora y media tocaron casi todas las canciones del nuevo disco, incluyendo dos de mis favoritas: "Loving Arm" y "She Wants". Además tocaron "Heartbreaker" y "A Thing For Me". No se qué es lo que me gusta de Metronomy exactamente, creo que es la mezcla de la voz de Joseph Mount y los coros agudos de Gbenga Adelekan, Oscar Cash y Anna Prior. I went to the Metronomy concert last Wednesday at the O2 Academy in Oxford. The venue is located in Cowley Road, the city area where the good clothes and music shops, restaurants and bars are. The venue is tiny, with a simple scenario and fairly good sound quality. The tickets were very cheap and it seemed like the people who went to the gig were true followers of the band. Metronomy's third and latest album "The English Riviera" is one of my favorites of the moment. In an hour and a half the band played almost every song from the new album, including two of my favorites: "Loving Arm" and "She Wants". They also played "Heartbreaker" and "A Thing For Me". I don't know what I like about Metronomy exactly, I think it is the mix of Joseph Mount's voice with the treble choirs of Gbenga Adelekan, Oscar Cash and Anna Prior.
