Icono de la Semana: Mónica Sors

Mónica es de Barcelona pero recién se mudó a México, en donde vivirá durante los próximos años. Desarrolló el gusto por la moda cuando era niña, aprendiendo de su mamá todo sobre costura, y asesorándola cuando se vestía. Mónica creció cosiendo vestidos para sus muñecas con los retazos que le sobraban a su mamá, y siempre pensó que se dedicaría a diseñar. Estudió Administración y Dirección de Empresas, y al poco tiempo decidió también estudiar Comunicación y Marketing de la Moda, lo cual le abrió las puertas en el mundo de la moda en España, en donde ha dirigido la prensa de varias marcas internacionales. En paralelo abrió su blog personal, al principio con ella en segundo plano y enfocándose en coolhunting en eventos importantes como Fashion Week París. Mes Voyages à Paris, su blog, ha tenido tal éxito que sus seguidores la han impulsado a convertirlo en uno de personal style. Hoy, sigue haciendo fotografía y coolhunting pero ahora sobre una plataforma paralela llamada The Coolturizer. Desde que llegó a México, extraña muchísimo a su hermana, pero por suerte ha logrado conocer gente con intereses similares por medio del blog. Su estilo normalmente depende de su estado de ánimo y de la ocasión, pero en general es bastante casual-chic, y siempre con toque personal. Le encanta comprar cosas diferentes y adaptarlas a diferentes outfits, y por eso le sorprende cuando revistas como Elle España la menciona como pionera en tendencias. Es bastante tímida, característica que la gente regularmente malinterpreta, catalogandola como niña "creída". Una vez conociéndola, es más bien romántica, coqueta y muy cariñosa.

Monica is from Barcelona and has recently moved to Mexico, where she will live for the next few years. Se developed her passion for fashion at a young age, when her mom taught her how to sew. She grew up making dresses for her dolls, and she always thought she was going to be a fashion designer. She studied Administration and Bussiness Direction, and soon after she decided to study another degree in Communication and Fashion Marketing, which opened her the doors of Spain's fashion scene, allowing her to work as press officer in several important fashion brands. While doing that, she decided to open Mes Voyages à Paris, her blog, where she played a secondary role until recently. Initially, her blog was mainly for coolhunting and documenting important events such as Fashion Week Paris. Most recently, her followers inspired her to transform her blog into one of personal style, although she still coolhunts for her super cool paralell platform called The Culturizer. Since she came to Mexico she missed her sister terribly, but she has managed to meet interesting people through her blog. Her style is often related to her mood, and she describes it as casual-chic, this is why she is very surprised when magazines such as Elle Spain mention her as being a trend setter. She loves buying things that are extraordinary, and finding the way of adapting them into outfits. She is very shy, characteristic that people often misinterpret as arrogant, but once you know her, she is just a sweetheart.
