Nuestro ícono de la semana ya está armando su agenda de fin de verano, misma que empieza en septiembre, mes plagado de eventos, lanzamientos, desfiles y fiestas. Por ejemplo, esta semana estuvo en el lanzamiento de Wild & Alive, una nueva marca de moda de bajo costo que se venderá en El Palacio de Hierro. También entrevistó y le tomó fotos a Sandra Echeverría, la it girl del cine mexicano, quien fué la invitada de honor en la reapertura de la boutique de Dior al sur de la Ciudad de México. Esa misma noche estuvo en la red carpet de la 3a temporada de Mexico´s Next Top Model, ya que es blogger official de su página web. Cuando platicamos con él, aún tenía una docena de invitaciones sin confirmar. Así de rápido se está moviendo la moda en México. Latin Fashion News es su blog, plataforma que le ha abierto muchas puertas y ha sido un gran compromiso personal que requiere responsabilidad, disciplina y mucho trabajo.
Para Gabriel Ibarzábal, lo más importante es el trabajo de uno, ya sea en la moda, en el arte o en cualquier cosa. Su primer blog lo abrió en 2007 cuando era estudiante en Central St. Martins. Este primer blog no era sobre moda, si no de sus exposiciones y de su obra. Así que cuando en octubre de 2010 decidió lanzarse al ruedo con Latin Fashion News, ya tenía una idea más clara de cómo hacer las cosas. Su primer encuentro con la moda fué en 1999 cuando ayudó en un shooting, y desde entonces ha colaborado con Harper´s Bazaar y 192. Actualmente también produce moda y escribe para V Magazine Spain (echen ojo a las fotos y video que hizo con Eiza aquí), y su nueva aventura es lanzar una línea de moños-corbatines, lo cual lo tiene muy entusiasmado. Su primer venta es el 6 de septiembre durante Fashion´s Night Out México dentro de la increíble concept store Common People. Para esa noche mostrará un modelo especial hecho de seda, en animal print y de tela Valentino. Our weekly icon is building his end-of-summer agenda starting with September, month full of events, launches, fashion shows and parties. For example, this week he attended the launch of Wild & Alive, a new low-cost fashion brand that will be sold by El Palacio de Hierro. He also interviewed and photographed Sandra Echeverría, the it girl of Mexican cinema, who was also the guest of honor at the reopening of Dior's boutique in the south of Mexico City. That same night he attended the red carpet of the 3rd season of Mexico's Next Top Model, as he is an official blogger at their website. When we talked to him, he still had a dozen unconfirmed invitations. Fashion is moving fast in Mexico. Latin Fashion News is his blog, a platform that has opened many doors and has been a great personal commitment that requires from him a great deal of responsibility, discipline and hard work.
For Gabriel Ibarzabal, the most important thing in life is one's work, whether in fashion, in art or in anything. His first sale will be on September 6th in Common People during Fashion's Night Out Mexico. That night he will be showing a special bow-tie made of animal print silk Valentino fabric.
