Icono de la Semana: Fiona Inglis

Con apenas 1.60 metros de altura y escasos 24 años, Fiona Inglis ya supera la altura promedio nacional y la esperanza de vida de la mujer Escocesa. Habiendo crecido en varias partes aburridas de su país como Aberdeen y Lockerbie, Fiona se dejó seducir fácilmente por las luces brillantes de Glasgow, en donde completó una licenciatura conjunta en Inglés y Periodismo y Escritura Creativa. Durante este tiempo fue elegida editora musical del periódico de su universidad, lo que le permitió disfrutar de conciertos gratuitos, bebidas gratis y entrevistar a varias estrellas de rock. Al poco tiempo se dio cuenta de que no tenía energía suficiente para vivir la vida de rockstar y decidió mejor dedicarse a la escritura creativa, actividad que le resulta más fácil. Le gusta escribir sobre temas incómodos y ha ganado concursos literarios con historias cortas sobre temas como el pelo púbico. Siempre le gusta hacer cosas nuevas y ha sido extra en una película de zombies, un drama de época y una serie de televisión lesbiana. Además, aparece en el poster de la Wasabi Disco en Edimburgo. Cansada de la mojada vida en Glasgow, Fiona se trasladó a Oxford hace un mes para pasar el rato y definir qué quiere hacer con su vida. Se ha adaptado bien a su nueva ciudad: disfruta pasear en bicicleta por las calles y asusta a los lugareños y académicos con sus ropas brillantes. En cuanto a estilo, el de Fiona es bastante relajado, con toques de humor y color en cada outfit. At 5”2 and 24, Fiona Inglis already exceeds both Scotland’s national average height and life expectancy for a woman. Having grown in various sleepy parts of the country, including Aberdeen and Lockerbie, Fiona was easily seduced by the comparatively bright lights of Glasgow, where she completed a Joint Honours degree in English and Journalism and Creative Writing. During this time she was elected Music Editor of her uni’s newspaper which allowed her to indulge in free gigs, free booze and interviewing rock stars. Deciding that she didn’t quite have the stamina for the rock and roll lifestyle she turned to creative writing which, she admits, comes far more easily anyway. She enjoys writing about uncomfortable subject matter and has won literary competitions with her short story Hair, cuts, about an ingrown pubic hair! Always open to exciting new ventures, Fiona also had fun doing “extras” work in a zombie movie, a period drama and a lesbian tv series, and has been the poster girl for renowned Edinburgh club night Wasabi Disco.Tired of treading water in Glasgow, Fiona moved to Oxford on a whim less than a month ago to hang out among the dreaming spires and get her act together. She has already settled well into her new city well and enjoys cycling through the quiet streets and freaking out the academic locals with her bright clothes. Fashion-wise, Fiona is pretty laid back and brings a sense of humour and colour to most of her outfits.
