Gracias al huracán Sandy nos tuvimos que mudar unos días al departamento de una amiga en el Upper East Side de Nueva York, en donde parece que no pasó nada. La zona en donde yo vivo se quedó sin electricidad, gas, internet y señal de celular. Estuvo interesante comparar el estilo de vida de los Upper East Siders con el del Village: son dos Manhattans totalmente diferentes. Las distancias arriba son mucho más largas a comparación de las de abajo, el ambiente es mucho más familiar y fancy, hay escuelas, gente corriendo en los parques, restaurantes y hoteles más elegantes, boutiques más espaciosas y la gente vive un ritmo mucho más lento. En Greenwich Village hay gente más joven y bohemia, los espacios son más reducidos y el night life es mucho mejor y variado porque hay muchísimos restaurantes y bares. Todo el tiempo hay ambiente. Me tomé estas fotos en la ventana del departamento que nos prestaron. Qué buena vista, ¿no? Estoy usando una camisa de gasa con print de víbora de Zara, jeans de Seven, suéter de H&M, collar PAAR y botas Steve Madden. Thanks to hurricane Sandy we had to temporarily move to a friend's apartment in New York's Upper East Side, where it seems like nothing happened. The are where I live was left without power, gas, Internet and mobile reception. It was very interesting to compare the lifestyle of the Upper East Siders with life at The Village, where I live: they are two different Manhattans. Distances at the Upper East Side are much longer compared to those at The Village. The atmosphere is familiar and fancy, there are schools, people running in the park, restaurants and elegant hotels, spacious boutiques and people's lifestyle is generally slower. In The Village people are younger and more bohemian, spaces are smaller and the night life is way better. I took these photos next to the window of my friend's apartment. Cool view huh?
