Bright Light

En mi viaje a Oslo aprendí todo sobre la ausencia, la permanencia y el brillo de la luz nórdica. Según mi guía Wallpaper (y una artista plástica estadounidense que conocí hace algunas noches), Oslo debe ser visitado durante el invierno, cuando la luz del sol, aunque dura poco, produce un brillo que yo jamás había visto. Con un poco de suerte, y el cielo está despejado, la aurora boreal también se puede ver en las afueras de la ciudad. He decidido que en mi próximo viaje a Noruega iré al Círculo Polar Ártico, en donde el día y la noche duran seis meses. Estas fotos me las tomó Anahita cuando caminábamos hacia Villa Paradiso, uno de los mejores restaurantes en el este de Oslo. My trip to Oslo was all about light: the absence of light, the permanence of light and its brightness. According to my Wallpaper guide (and an American light installation artist I met a few nights ago), Oslo must be visited during the winter, when the few hours of sunlight produce a type of brightness I had never seen before. If you are lucky and the sky is clear, the Northern Lights can also be seen in the outskirts of the city. In my next trip to Norway I am determined to go above the Arctic Circle, where the night and day practically last six months. These bright photos were taken by Anahita when we were walking to Villa Paradiso, one of the best restaurants in East Oslo.
