What the hell is Smart Casual? was one of the first questions I asked myself when I first arrived in the UK. This country has innumerable dress codes and attire rules compared to Mexico, where we like to keep it simple and stick to "formal", "black tie" or "casual". Studying in Oxford makes it even worse: you are invited to dinners every week, all of them requiring different dress-codes. When I received an invitation with "smart casual" required as dress code, I couldn't help but google it, only to find out that Wikipedia was as confused with the term as I was. Qué es Smart Casual? fue una de las primeras preguntas que me hice a mi misma cuando me mudé a Inglaterra. Este país tiene innumerables reglas de vestimenta en comparación con México, en donde casi siempre encasillamos eventos con códigos como "formal", "etiqueta" y "casual". Estudiar en Oxford complica aún más la cosa: cada semana recibes invitaciones para ir a eventos y cenas, y cada uno tiene un código de vestimenta diferente. Cuando me llegó por primera vez una invitación con el código "smart casual" tuve que recurrir a Google para saber qué significaba, sólo para encontrar que Wikipedia estaba tan confundido como yo. El outfit del día de hoy es mi interpretación personal del término, ¿Qué opinan? ¿Lo hice bien? Estoy usando pantalones y t-shirt de Zara, bolsa Nine West, zapatos vintage y un collar PAAR (lo puedes comprar aquí).
