CHVRCHES - THE BONES OF WHAT YOU BELIEVE

I first heard the debut album of CHVRCHES, a Scottish trio Formed by Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty about three months ago, and can say it's one of the funnest albums I heard in 2013. Influenced by bands and artists such as Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, Passion Pit, Elliott Smith and Prince, you can perfectly note the "dream pop" influence in the band, though mixed with danceable beats and Mayberry's angelical voice - a blend of perfectly digestible electro-pop. The album was mixed by Rich Cotsey, who has worked with bands such as NIN and Rage Against the Machine, who helped give sharpness and clarity to the band's sounds, features that had been recently lost to the great influence of shoegaze in electronic music. The album was well received in the UK: BBC ranked the band as one of the most promising talents, NME ranked it with a score of 8 out of 10, and Pitchfork cataloged as one of the best new music albums with 8.5 out of 10. Hace más o menos tres meses escuché el álbum debut de CHVRCHES, un trío escocés formado por Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook y Martin Doherty y pudo decir que es uno de los discos más divertidos que escuché en 2013. Influenciado por bandas y artistas como Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, Passion Pit, Elliott Smith y Prince, se nota perfectamente la influencia "dream popera" en la banda, aunque mezclado con beats bailables y una voz angelical de Mayberry, hacen una mezcla perfecta y totalmente digerible de electro-pop. El álbum fue mezclado por Rich Cotsey, quien ha trabajado con bandas del calibre de NIN y Rage Against the Machine, dándole una claridad y nitidez a los sonidos que se había perdido recientemente con la gran influencia del shoegaze en la música electrónica.
