I was cleaning my closet during the weekend and found myself in front of all my old heels. When I lived in Mexico, where distances are long and public transportation is not very efficient, I was forced to drive a lot. Driving means I walked very little, hence, I wore heels very often. Since I moved to the UK I switched my routine completely and now I cycle and walk everywhere. I only wear heels when I absolutely have to (to go out or sometimes during the week), but its always a hassle if I have to walk in slippery and cold sidewalks. Although I've mastered the art of riding a bike with stilettos, it's not the safest of activities. My usual self looks more like it does in these photos: with messy hair, little makeup, sunglasses and comfy shoes that can put up with puddles, bike pedals and occasional dance floors. Estaba limpiando mi clóset este fin de semana y me encontré frente a todos mis zapatos de tacón. Cuando vivía en México, en donde las distancias son largas y el transporte público algo ineficiente, tenía que manejar bastante. Manejar significaba caminar poco y por ende poder usar tacones más seguido. Desde que me mudé a Inglaterra solamente ando en bici o camino, y ninguna de esas actividades se pueden hacer usando tacones. Solo uso tacones cuando salgo o a veces durante la semana, pero es un desastre cuando tengo que caminar mucho en banquetas resbalosas y frías. Aunque ya he perfeccionado el arte de andar en bici en tacones, no es la actividad más segura. La mayoría del tiempo me la vivo con looks relajados como este, combinados con flats que aguanten la lluvia, nieve y alguno que otro paso en la pista de baile.
