The Mystery Hat

My flash trip to Mexico was an emotional rollercoaster. Apart from saying goodbye to my grandma, I also said goodbye to the house where I've lived for the past 10 years. It felt really weird to help my mom pack and get rid of the unbelievable amount of crap one accumulates over the years. I dedicated a few afternoons to go through my stuff and choose what I wanted to keep for the future. It was a fun, but exhausting activity, and also very emotional. If I ever decide to move back to Mexico City, I will no longer have a "home", and that is a very weird feeling. Good news is my mom wanted to get rid of tons of her things as well, and I got to chose an amazing set of vintage silverware. Among other discoveries, I found this mystery hat, which I immediately packed and brought with me to the UK. It is perfect for winter!

My viaje express a México estuvo lleno de emociones. Además de decirle adiós a mi abuela, también le dije adiós a la casa en donde viví más de 10 años de mi vida. Fue muy raro dedicarle las tardes a ayudar a mi mamá a tirar cosas viejas, y escoger las cosas que me quería quedar. Es impresionante la cantidad de tonterías que uno acumula con el paso de los años, y aunque le ayudé bastante, no pude terminar. Re-acomodar mis cosas estuvo increíble, encontré miles de fotos viejas, y miles de tesoros como mis medallas de atletismo y zapatos vintage. Lo triste fue darme cuenta que si algún día decido regresar a vivir a México, o a visitar, ya no será lo mismo. La buena noticia es que mi mamá también estaba en humor de regalar absolutamente todo, así que me quedé con un par de vajillas y copas vintage increíbles. Entre otros tesoros, también encontré este sombrero café Ann Taylor que no tenía dueño, así que me lo llevé. Está perfecto para el invierno en Inglaterra!
