Spoon - They Want My Soul

Spoon make their glorious return after 4 years with They Want My Soul. The Austin-based band, led by Britt Daniel released their 8th studio album a few days ago, 18 years after their debut album, Telephono. The good reviews were out immediately, some saying that They Want My Soul is the new rock classic, comparing it to work by artists such as Bowie, Lennon and The Rolling Stones.

They Want My Soul kept Transference's mysticism, but incorporated more fun aspects as in 2007's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, and is filled with their classic guitar riffs and pop rythms that make it an immediate easy and fluent listen. It may be too early, but I'm pretty sure They Want My Soul will be in my 2014's favourite albums list. Listen to it on constant repeat, the only thing that will happen is that tracks will only get better.

La banda originaria de Austin, Texas, liderada por Britt Daniel lanzó hace unos días su octavo álbum de estudio, 18 años después de que la banda fuera formada. Los buenos comentarios y las reseñas no se hicieron esperar, y se ha clasificado a They Want My Soul como un nuevo clásico del rock a escasos días de su lanzamiento, incluso comparándolo con trabajo de otros artistas, como John Lennon, Rolling Stones, o David Bowie.

They Want My Soul conserva el misticismo de Transference, pero incorpora aspectos más divertidos y pegajosos como en Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, de 2007, y está lleno de sus ya conocidos riffs de guitarra y ritmos poperos que lo hacen muy fácil de escuchar. Tal vez es muy temprano para decirlo, pero They Want My Soul definitivamente estará en mi lista de álbumes favoritos de 2014. Escúchenlo una y otra vez, lo único que puede pasar, es que las canciones mejoren mientras más las repitan.
